Bloomberg Tobacco Control Grants Program
A global initiative to reduce tobacco use in low- and middle-income countries has been launched with funds from Michael R. Bloomberg. As part of this initiative, a competitively awarded grants program will support projects to develop and deliver high-impact tobacco control interventions. The JSPS Core-to-Core Program
From this fiscal year, the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science has initiated a new program for the purpose of building and expanding a cooperative international framework in leading-edge fields of science among universities and research institutions.

Testing Tobacco Products Promoted to Reduce Harm
Sponsored by the National Institutes of Health to stimulate multidisciplinary research on the chemical composition, behavior of use, exposure to toxic agents, addictive properties, differential toxicity, and individual and public health impact of potential reduced-exposure tobacco products. Applicants may request a project period of up to 2 years with a combined budget for direct costs of up $275,000.

OTRU Graduate Studentships for Research in Tobacco Control
The purpose of the studentship program is to increase the tobacco research capacity in Ontario by developing a future cadre of tobacco researchers and practitioners. The studentships build on the network of tobacco researchers in Ontario and allow for research into tobacco control, covering a wide variety of topic areas including interventions, policy, programs and health effects.Studentships of up to $7,000 each will be awarded in two competitions each year (September and March).

The Canadian Tobacco Control Research Initiative (CTCRI)
CTCRI is a national partnership of research organizations working to increase capacity and innovation in research relevant to tobacco control policies and programs. CTCRI offers one-time grants of up to $10,000 to students wishing to conduct research in the area of tobacco abuse, nicotine addiction, or tobacco control intervention research. Applications are accepted quarterly in March, June, September and December.
